Gerry "the monk" Hutch, an Irish gangland figure, finished fourth in a Dublin parliamentary byelection won by Daniel Ennis of the Social Democrats. Hutch, who ran as an independent and called for internment camps for undocumented immigrants, received 11.3% of first preference votes but trailed Ennis and two other candidates.
