Coco Gauff said the Australian Open did not apologize after footage of her breaking a racket in a private area was broadcast following her January quarter-final loss. Gauff began her French Open title defense with a 6-4, 6-0 first-round victory over Taylor Townsend.

I've never seen the point of trying to hit a ball over a net. To me the purpose remains indistinct. Why chase a ball on a field or a court? Don't these people have something better to do? Something more productive or entertaining in which the outcome is more than a score.

Fair enough - not every topic is for everyone. You can unsubscribe from any topic using the 'leave' button in the sidebar so your feed only shows what interests you. I'm also working on an onboarding flow that will let new users pick their interests from the start, so you don't see tennis news if you're not interested in tennis news.

I can now see I am in the tennis sub. I didn't notice that from the front page. Sometimes it can be difficult to remove sports news from my feeds. If I can do that here it would be appreciated. I don't subscribe to subs.

No worries at all, I'll manually unsubscribe you. Others have mentioned joining/leaving subs is confusing and fiddly, so this clearly needs to be improved.

Thanks. I've found the unsubscribe list and managed it. Picking interests at the start is a good idea. Haystack News does the same thing. I'm not sure things are unclear or fiddly. It just wasn't immediately apparent. Again, I think you are doing a fantastic job.

Thanks, appreciate it. Good call on joining process, picking interests as part of signup is something I'm working on right now and should be deployed today.

Maybe with Tiley departing, AO will change tack on broadcasting players in private areas to the world.
