Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan condemned a billboard featuring AI-generated images of her wearing a witch's hat and the phrase "ditch the witch," saying she will continue calling out sexist commentary. One Nation leader Pauline Hanson defended the billboard, but Allan said Hanson "chooses to barrack for the bullies" while she fights them.
Allan should stop whining and lead her state. According to Ipsos Victorians care about the cost of living, crime, housing, healthcare and the economy.
She is trying to appeal to the good natured spirit of Hanson supporters. That tactic is obviously going to fail. One Nation is polling well because people are dissatisfied and frustrated. Allan is ignoring this message. Hopefully Albanese isn't doing the same thing.
If you want to believe any of these right-wing shill media polls. Still, the fact they are 90% of the Australian media landscape and what average Joe consumes, it is a worry. Labor does need to start listening to the concerns of the public though and do something about it. If it is a leadership change, they should do it before too long to allow the new leader to show some leadership before the election. Or Jacinta needs to show that same leadership and address these issues.
Yeah, I was hesitant to post a Freshwater poll considering they were the internal pollster for Dutton's campaign and closely linked to the Liberal party, just coincidentally showing the Liberals in the lead in Victoria. Even so, Redbridge is more neutral and shows similar numbers at the federal level for ONP, so it probably isn't too unreliable. Victoria is historically very favourable to Labor with Labor holding power for 22 out of the past 26 years, but it seems Allan has done the impossible and finally broken the spell.
Fair enough. I also think the federal election is still ages away so hopefully ON will do more to shoot themselves in the feet - like the recent attempts to talk about anti-abortion again, and their costings for defense and possible conscription? wtf is that about? wow. Jacinta is doing poorly, but I think Labor over all are doing a much better job than LNP have ever done in Vic in terms of social government, infrastructure spending etc, but that said, it would appear the state is getting sick of Labor's percieved complacency and not listening to the public and there seems to be calls for a change of government to shake things up - which I agree might not be the worst idea. However, I certainly think LNP or ON are the wrong answer. Maybe more greens, teals, smaller parties making up a more representative government? Not sure. Guess we'll see what happpens in November.

Allan had a shocker of a poll today, Labor in third place behind both Libs and ONP. I can't imagine it's long until a leadership spill now.
