The Trump administration plans to impose a 12.5% tariff on Australian goods, alleging failure to prevent forced labor and slavery. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese calls the tariff "unjustified and inconsistent" with free trade agreements between the allies.
This relationship is only going downhill. After seeing how disastrous a security pact with the US has been for Gulf states Australian leaders must be questioning our relationship. Not only that the whole idea of having a large military force to project power is eroding especially thanks to drone technology. We can see that with the current attacks in Russia and the stalemate in the Persian Gulf. We must sever our association with this awful country and turn towards our region and strengthen relationships here.
